Game Mechanics:

To truly embody the theme of "Against the Grain," we decided to leverage the Unity Engine in a disruptive way to create a Twin-interface educational interactive story, moving away from conventional 3D gaming. We chose not to use keyboard controls, opting instead for a 2D "Story Game" that emulates the Twine interface, designed for children. In the game's four choose options, the player can only select one, and the story proceeds down that specific branch. Upon finish all four journeys, the final summary page is unlocked. It's cute, simple, easy-to-understand, and entirely playable with just a mouse for a comprehensive science education experience. It successfully works against the traditional uses and features of Unity in both its content and mechanics.
